Job Overview:

Due to the restructuring of our workshop management, we are currently seeking an experienced and motivated group level workshop manager to lead and bring together all of our workshop operations. The ideal candidate will report to the senior management team and have strong leadership and organisational skills, along with financial understanding of vehicle servicing and maintenance to ensure workshops are mobilised in a planned and efficient manner. The role seeks a proven manager that can synergise operations across business units and generate an efficient and cost-effective approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all Workshop Operations: Manage and oversee all aspects of workshop operations within the group, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.

Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of workshop managers, skilled technicians and mechanics, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that services supporting internal and external clients meet or exceed expectations.

Safety & Compliance: Enforce and promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols and regulations. In addition, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements.

Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring that necessary parts and supplies are readily available to meet production demands.

Budget Oversight: Work within budgetary constraints, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimising resource allocation.

Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with external clients and internal departments, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Supplier Relations & Procurement: Managing and developing procurement activities/systems to give the business best value and quality parts & services.

Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and contribute to their professional growth.

Our Expectations:

Proven experience in workshop leadership (preferably transport sector), with a track record of successful team leadership.

Strong technical knowledge in workshop management and process.

Proven track record in cost implementing saving initiatives.

Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.

Effective and assertive communication and interpersonal skills with proven people management skills.

Familiarity with safety regulations, quality control standards and regulatory aligned requirements.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and workshop management software (e.g. GDS). Performance reporting will be required to senior management on a monthly basis.
